Hey there! My name is Audrey Pinette and I started this blog to help mom’s who are going back to school. I am a wife, mom to 3 terrific kiddos (ages 8, 10 & 12), dentist and former nurse.

When I started dental school, our kids were 2, 4 & 6. Yes, you read that right! Yes, I am crazy. I distinctly remember one very late night studying in our office in the basement, the house was quiet and I was alone except for the bright computer screen in front of me. I remember feeling completely isolated, totally overwhelmed and unbearably alone. So, amidst a steady stream of tears, I googled “how to survive going to school with kids.” Nothing. Try again… “mom going back to school.” A few posts written by (I’m sure) well-intentioned middle aged men.

If I felt alone in my journey before, well now I really was alone. Literally and figuratively in my basement. How could google let me down?

This is why I started this blog, this community. I knew then, and I know it is true now more than ever, that mom’s going back to school are out there and need to know that we are not alone! Whether you are going to finish high school, a college diploma or a university degree; whether you are taking a vocational program or simply a course that interests you, us school mom’s are out there and we need to stick together.

I have taken a lot of post-secondary education and I’ve learnt a thing or two, (or two hundred things) that will help you reach your academic goals.

Grab your vanilla latte or caffeine of choice and jump in with me as I walk you through this crazy road which is going back to school as a mom.
